Statement of Faith
A statement of faith is essential to a Bible-based ministry; it is not intended to be a comprehensive statement of truth found in the Bible. The following is based on the Assemblies of God Statement of Fundamental Truths. Maranatha International Ministries is founded on fundamental Bible teachings necessary for successful Christian ministry.
Maranatha International Ministries is based on the entire Bible being given by the only one true God. God’s Word is infallible, authoritative, and profitable to be studied and obeyed (2 Timothy 3:15-17). It is the only guide to be used for our beliefs and our faith.
God, the Creator of the heavens and the earth, sent his only Son to become human; He was born of a virgin and conceived by the Holy Spirit. He lived a perfect life (Hebrews 7:26) and died on a cross as a substitute for every person (1 Corinthians 15:3). He was buried and raised from the dead by God (Matthew 28:6) and now sits at the right hand of the Father (Acts 2:33). Jesus came from God and is God (John 1:1-5); all Scripture points to the person and work of Jesus Christ.
Man is made in the image of God. However man chose to ignore God’s instructions and chose to do what they knew was wrong. Because of this choice, man became separated from God. Salvation restores the relationship between God and mankind, delivering them from spiritual death (John 3:16). Salvation is God’s free offer to anyone who acknowledges their sinful nature and places their faith in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
The baptism of the Holy Spirit was and is a normal experience of believers that follows the new birth experience. Through this experience, the believer experiences a deeper relationship for God (Acts 2:43) and for His Word (Mark 16:20).
Believers are to be holy as God is Holy (1Peter 1:16); we are to separate ourselves from evil. Living a holy life is only possible under the guidance of the Holy Spirit. The process of sanctification is very important to the spiritual growth of every believer.
The return of Jesus Christ to redeem His people is the basis of our hope. Christians will then be with the Father for eternity. It is the primary motivation for this ministry. God desires that all mankind be saved and that no one be left behind. The purpose of the church is to evangelize, to save as many as possible from the coming judgment.
Following the second coming of Christ and the rapture of the saints, Christ will reign 1000 years to bring salvation to the Jews and establish world peace. Following the Millennium, will be a final judgment of the wicked dead and the establishment of the New Heavens and New Earth.
